Privacy Policy
Version 1.0 - Effective April 15, 2026
Realer LLC ("Realer," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Realer mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
Account Data
Email address, password (hashed), date of birth, and name.
Profile Data
Photos, city, education, job title, height, and questionnaire responses. Questionnaire responses include sensitive categories such as religious beliefs, political views, sexual orientation, relationship and intimacy preferences, substance use habits, and attachment style.
AI-Derived Data
We use artificial intelligence to analyze your photos and profile to generate: attractiveness scores, compatibility scores, photo trait analysis (body type, ethnicity estimates, facial features), AI-generated bio summaries, and compatibility narratives. This data is used exclusively for matching and is never displayed to other users in raw form.
Usage Data
Match interactions (yes/no decisions, feedback ratings), message metadata (timestamps, exchange count), and in-app navigation patterns.
Device and Technical Data
Device type, operating system, app version, IP address, and push notification tokens.
Location Data
City-level location based on the city you select during profile setup. We store your city name and approximate coordinates (latitude/longitude) for matching purposes. We do not track your real-time location.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
→ Provide matching services and generate daily candidate recommendations
→ Moderate content (photos and messages) for community safety
→ Generate AI-powered profile summaries and compatibility insights
→ Improve our matching algorithm based on anonymized interaction patterns
→ Send transactional communications (match notifications, account updates)
→ Analyze usage patterns to improve the service
→ Enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines
3. Third-Party Service Providers
We share data with the following service providers, each of which processes data on our behalf under their own privacy policies:
Supabase (database, authentication, file storage): Account data, profile data, messages, match data.
Anthropic / Claude AI (AI analysis): Photos (for trait extraction and verification), questionnaire responses (for compatibility analysis), profile text (for bio generation and matching narratives).
Amazon Web Services - Rekognition (photo moderation): Photos are scanned for prohibited content including nudity, violence, and other unsafe material.
Amazon Web Services - Comprehend (message moderation): Message text is analyzed for toxicity and harmful content.
Stripe (payment processing): Email address and payment information for subscription management. Realer does not store credit card numbers.
PostHog (analytics): Anonymized usage events, device type, app version. No personally identifiable information is sent to PostHog.
Apple (app distribution, push notifications): Device tokens for push notifications, app download and update data.
4. Sensitive Personal Information
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), certain data we collect qualifies as sensitive personal information, including: religious beliefs, political views, sexual orientation, and health-related information.
We collect this data only for the purpose of providing our matching service. It is encrypted in transit and at rest, never sold to third parties, and can be deleted at any time by deleting your account.
5. Photo and Biometric Analysis
We use AI (Claude Vision by Anthropic) to analyze your photos for:
→ Content moderation (ensuring photos meet community standards)
→ Visual trait extraction (body type, ethnicity, facial features) for matching
→ Attractiveness scoring for bracket-based matching
→ Selfie verification (comparing your selfie to your profile photos)
This analysis may include processing of facial features and other biometric-adjacent data. By accepting our Terms of Service and uploading photos, you consent to this processing. Under CPRA, biometric data is treated as sensitive personal information.
6. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights:
Right to Know: You can request details about what personal information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.
Right to Delete: You can request deletion of your personal data. You can delete your account directly in Settings, or contact us by email.
Right to Opt Out of Sale/Sharing: We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

7. Data Retention
Active accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
After account deletion: Your profile is immediately removed from all matching and discovery. Personal data (photos, messages, questionnaire responses, match history) is permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymized and aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
Reports: If reports have been filed against your account, a record of those reports (without your personal profile data) may be retained for legal and safety purposes.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, row-level security policies on our database, and secure authentication via Supabase Auth. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
9. Children's Privacy
Realer is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that we have collected data from a user under 18, we will delete their account and data immediately.
10. International Users
Realer is currently available only in the United States. If you access the service from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email. The "Effective" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last updated.
